Learn the basics of copyright law and how it applies to creative works. You will learn the types of works that receive copyright protection, what copyright protection actually means, and what the Fair Use exception allows. You will also learn about the recent Supreme Court case involving a photograph of Prince and its use by the Andy Warhol Foundation.

Meredith Ragains is the Executive Director of Georgia Lawyers for the Arts. GLA is a non-profit organization that provides legal assistance to artists and arts organizations. In addition, Ms. Ragains oversees Georgia PATENTS, which program provides pro bono legal assistance to low-income inventors and micro-entities who live in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee.
Meredith also is an adjunct professor at Emory Law School where she has taught contract drafting since 2016.
