A5391-K: Non-Profit Needs Help with Damage to Leased Premises by Restaurant Tenant

Non-Profit is a long-standing nonprofit that functions as a multidisciplinary art incubator by hosting workshops, producing original works, and displaying these works in public spaces. Client has established co-op commercial space for artists and has a restaurant space in the complex.Non-Profit terminated the restaurant's lease and gave the tenant 60 days to vacate. Tenant removed improvements and left damage of approximately $7000. Non-Profit took photographs of the damage before repairs were conducted. Non-Profit set off the tenant’s damage deposit and requested a reduced amount to resolve the matter. Tenant did not respond and then subsequently disputed that there had been any damage. Non-Profit seek assistance in collecting the reduced amount or alternatively the entire cost plus costs if Tenant does not agree to pay the reduced amount.
