 nd patent attorney Zach Stevenson of Ballard Spahr on Wednesday\, April 23
 rd from 12:00 pm–2:30 pm for an in-depth look at the U.S. patent system.
 \n\nA patent is a right granted by the U.S. government to the owner of an 
 invention that is useful\, novel\, and non-obvious over the prior art. The
  owner of a U.S. patent may exclude others from practicing the invention f
 or about 20 years after the filing date of the application which gave rise
  to the patent. This seminar will cover what makes an invention “patenta
 ble” and provide an overview of the patent application process to better

 enson-zachary\n\nZach Stevenson is a patent attorney who focuses his pract
 ice on preparing and pursuing patent rights for inventors . Although Zach
 ’s primary practice is focused on utility patents\, Zach enjoys preparin
 g and pursuing design patents for inventors of consumer products and graph
 ical user interfaces.  Zach was previously a patent fellow at Georgia Law
 yers for the Arts\, where he assisted first-time inventors obtain patent d
 rafting services on a pro bono basis. Before Zach attended law school\, he
  worked as a software developer in Orlando\, Florida.\n\nNOTE: This course
  is eligible as the mandatory training for the Georgia PATENTS Program.
