Client, a film director, wrote, directed, and produced a music soundtrack to a film in 2010 which grabbed the attention of a famous international music artist (Adverse Party). Adverse Party approached Client about a partnership. Client would write and direct films and Adverse Party would finance films through personal funds, promotions, and distribution deals. Client and Adverse Party orally agreed on a contract Client drafted. Adverse Party backed out of the deal, leaving Client financially distraught. Client sought restitution, but negotiations with Adverse Party failed. Client now needs lawsuit filed before SOL expires on May 14, 2017.

Client, a non-profit, seeks to negotiate and come to an agreement with a foundation (Adverse Party) on working together to preserve the heritage of a local artist. Client and Adverse Party had an acrimonious relationship regarding the right to lease and run a park and museum. The Board of the Foundation has changed and Client sees an opportunity to work together for a common goal.
A2036-1-K : Contract Enforcement/Settlement
Client, a single mother of 6, entered into an agreement with Adverse Party (AP) to provide translation services. Compensation for the services was a share of royalties from sales of the translated books sold on AP’s platforms over a 5 year period. Client has received no royalty statements or payments despite repeated requests. Also, AP appears to have allowed authors to sell the translated books on other than the AP’s platforms. Client wishes to recover payment for translations (word count times standard industry rate) or enforcement of the contract.

Client wishes to register trademark of her company name in both word form and logo. Client has consistently used same company name since 2012 for selling goods and services (commissioned art). There are several other people using the same name. Client has been selling and shipping nationally.

Client is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to preserve, present, and teach indigenous African cultural arts through dance, drums, fashion, drama, and songs. Client teaches African wellness through dance, writes school dance programs, and creates performances for the public. Client’s most popular dance program is called “Rhythm in Motion,” and Client learned several other companies have copied this program. Client would like trademark and copyright protection for the written curriculum and dance moves for the Rhythm in Motion program and would like to discuss protection for her other written programs and curriculum.
